A long, twisting, and steep dirt road leads from Tutuala to the beach and Jaco Island, which are 8 kilometers apart. You have two options: walking or taking a car. The other choice is to arrange a private driver or hire a Dili vehicle.

The roads leading out of Dili are unpaved, and many are still being built today due to years of negligence. Although the trip takes a long time, there are many gorgeous places to halt along the route. 

Once the visitors arrive at Tutuala, local fishermen will pick them up at the beach and ferry them across while coordinating a pick-up time for the return trip from the island.
